My Writing Checklist

Did I read and reread my introduction. Is it interesting? Does it tell about the topic I am writing about? Is it well written?

Did I answer each part of the essay question in the body of the essay?

Did I list and explain how at least FOUR documents apply to my answer?

Did I add information to the essay that was not in the documents? (Things I knew about the topic from life, school, or reading…)

Did I write a conclusion that makes sense and tells what my essay is about?

Did I check for complete sentences and paragraphs? Is my grammar, spelling, and punctuation correct?

Did I check the rubrics? How does my essay score based on the items in the rubric? Did I fix part of my essay to make it better?

Did I reread my essay many times to see if it makes sense?

Am I happy to give my essay to my teacher?
